Sadie Lou's New Teeth
Sadie's surgery went really well. I'm so glad it's over with. We went this morning to the dentist's office and she was really good. She drank the medicine "cocktail" right down. Once it hit her, she was stumbling around a bit. She eventually got a little belligere
nt. She insisted on doing things herself and wanted to get into everything. Then she wanted to go home and she kept trying to push me out the door toward leaving the office. They came and took her back after an hour. She never cried and she went straight to the nurse. When she was done, after about an hour, the nurse told me that they could tell Sadie was really smart. She understood everything they said and she never cried. Once they put the nose on her, she went to sleep. The doctor told me her front two teeth were in terrible shape. He wants me to watch for bumps above those two teeth. If we see them, we need to take her back in because the teeth just have to come out. He said the two teeth beside her front teeth had cavities as well, but weren't near as severe as the front two. He went ahead and filled those while she was out. Today was a rough day, money-wise. I spent well over a thousand dollars between Sadie's surgery and paying my speeding ticket. There goes the last of our tax returns. Oh well. I'm just glad Sadie's doing well. I feel bad that she was suffering all this time.
(Here's a before and after. He left some space between her front teeth so that she didn't have the same problem again. He said the crowned teeth are weaker, so we need to be careful.)
Dear Sadie,
Yesterday your daddy went to pick you up from nursery and your teacher, Sister Schultz, said you were the nursery bully. Every time someone got a toy, you would snatch it away from them. You wouldn't do that to your friend, Easton, though. Y'all must have some sort of agreement. In fact, he even gets mad at you because you are always giving him toys. You put them on his walker tray. Easton's mom was in nursery yesterday too and she said she even saw you do a couple of karate kicks.
I feel so sorry for you because tomorrow morning I have to wake you up and take you to get surgery on your teeth. I had a terrible nightmare about it last night. I'm having so much anxiety, I think mainly because you have never been out before...and because I feel like it's all my fault because I let you sleep with your sippy cup...and because I have to go alone. I've really been missing my family lately. I wish my Mama was here to go with me.

Skyler's 8th Grade Graduation
We're so proud of you, Skyler! But please stop growing up now. We know that 8th grade graduation means 12th grade graduation is only 4 years away. We aren't old enough to have a high schooler now, even though I do have to color my grays these days.

Sibley's Final Fifth Grade Concert
I wish I could download all of the videos of her playing right now, but Blogger doesn't let me do that anymore. It only lets me download still pictures. This is the one still picture I got of her that night. She did great and we are so proud of her for sticking with Violin this year. It has been a hard year for Sibley. It was tough for her to adjust to a new school, but we are proud of her for sticking with it and hangin' in there. We love you, Sibley!
Dear Sadie,
You are almost 26 months old and this is what you are up to these days:
You got a "bike-cycle" yesterday. I got you purple because you love purple. You always say things are purple and pick out purple. Today at church you learned about frowny faces and smiles, so you've been practicing your emotions this afternoon. You've been making a grouper face and saying "I'm sad" or "I'm mad." You fell down the stairs a few steps tonight and hurt your arm a little bit. After that you wouldn't let DubDub come down the stairs because you were afraid she would fall down too. Mama Kitty came in tonight and you followed her around the house trying to read her your favorite book, "The Itsy-bitsy Spider." You also wanted to show her your boo-boo on your arm and your Barbie computer. She wouldn't cooperate.

Bryant and I had a date night last night. He sold a bunch of Scentsy stuff at work last month, so I took him out on my Scentsy paycheck. First we went and saw the Avengers in 3D. I haven't seen a movie in 3D in a long time and it was fun. My favorite is Captain America because he is old school and fights with his fists. He's a good, honorable, WWII vet just like my grandfathers. Then we had a delicious supper at a little Bistro in Gilbert.
Thanks for a fun Mother's Day date, Big Daddy! Love you so much.

Our current project...
Now we are taking up the ugly tile in the foyer so that we can replace it, the living room carpet and the family room carpet
with the new Russet Olive wood we bought!
Our new tile floors...
Bryant worked so hard all weekend on putting tile over our linoleum. I think it turned out beautiful. I love it! Thank you, Bryant!
Before and After
Sibley wanted to show off her teeth. She is very excited that the gap between her two front teeth is now closed!
Happy 10th Birthday, DubDub!
We can't believe you're ten already! Thanks to all the friends who came to Sibley's pool party. It was a blast! Also, Sibley, you did a great job baking and decorating your cupcakes!
Dear Sadie,
Today a disgusting, funny thing happened. This morning Mama Kitty was so thirsty. I checked her water and you had dumped it out into a cooler outside. (You always either dump her water out or pour her cat food into her water and render it unpotable.) Anyway, so I brought the cat in and poured her some milk in one of your little bowls. This morning, you kept picking up the bowl and moving it around the kitchen, so I had to fuss at you and you finally stopped. This afternoon I had a doctor's appointment and when I got home, you were eating ice cream out of a green bowl. We have a couple of green bowls, so I said "Please tell me that's not the same green bowl with the scratches on the bottom that Mama Kitty drank milk out of." Sure enough, it was!
While I'm at it, this reminds me of another story. A few years ago I was watching TV in Skyler's room with Skyler, Sibley, and Mama Kitty. There were some Doritos on the bed, so I was munching on them. I put one in my mouth and it was already soggy, so I asked Sibley if she spilled water or something on the bed because my chip was wet. She said, "No, Mama Kitty was licking that one." Thanks, Sibley, for letting me know ahead of time.

Dear Sadie,
You are 23 and a half months old. Yoday you understood me versus you. You were shoving food into Mama Kitty's kennel and she bit you. You said "Kitty bite me." I said, "Did the kitty bite you?." You said, "Yes, kitty bite you me. Kitty bite me."
