Monday is Moving Day!

Moving when great with child is a little more difficult, but I feel it is much more productive, for me anyway. I am definitely nesting. I'm getting more organized than ever before and throwing out so much! It feels so good to get rid of stuff. And it will be worth it to have all that extra room in our new house! If I can just keep pluggin' along til Tuesday.....
Rib update: Thanks for all the well wishes about my rib. It wasn't broken, just bruised. It is already feeling much better.

MLK Holiday in the Hospital

For our three day weekend, I spent the night in the hospital! [Warning: This may be a little graphic for some of you.] I had bleeding all night Saturday night and was feeling some pressure Sunday morning, so I called my mother, the nurse, and she pretty much told me to get my butt to the hospital that instant. The funny thing is that Sibley had her sibling class at the hospital on Saturday, so I went ahead and got preregistered while we were there. They told me when I preregistered that I was far enough along that I didn't need to go to the ER entrance if anything happened, just to go straight to the OB entrance.

So, I just had Bryant and the girls drop me off at the hospital OB entrance and then go on their merry way. I figured they wouldn't keep me long at all. Lo and behold, they wanted to keep me overnight. They checked me and I was at a 1, but not effaced at all, so that's good. They just wanted to keep the baby monitored and make sure I wasn't hemorrhaging, and I wasn't because if I was then something bad would have happened in the first 24 hours, and it didn't. They gave me two steroid shots to develop Sadie's lungs just in case I did deliver her in the next couple of weeks. The doctor doesn't seem to think I'll make it to 35 weeks, but you never know.

They also did another ultrasound and Sadie looks really good. They even showed me that she has a little hair. They took me down to x-ray and x-rayed my chest because I have a bruised rib. I should find out soon if it is broken or not. Really not much they can do if it is anyway.

So, that's what we did for our long weekend. The bad news is that I didn't get much packing or cleaning done, but the good news is that everyone's okay. Hope all of y'all had a good long weekend!

New House Pictures

Featuring:
2,300 square feet
4 bedrooms plus a loft
2.5 baths
one big, happy family

And our favorite part...It backs right up to the church! (See picture!) How convenient is that? And you wouldn't believe the price if I told you. Let me just say we paid less than we paid for our little 1,200 sq. foot Henry Street house in Alabama! I know the yard looks tiny to those of you in the South, but it is actually pretty decent for an Arizona yard. And I love that it already has the nice sunscreens and a covered back porch. We definitely need those here in Arizona. And the girls are looking forward to a big bathroom with two sinks.

Baby Sadie Louise at 28 Weeks

"And I shall call her Squishy, and she shall be my Squishy."
-Dori in Finding Nemo

Here are some things I would like to address about these ultrasound pictures:
1. Unfortunately, her face was squashed up against my placenta, thus the quote from Finding Nemo. The ultrasound tech told us from the beginning that she would not be able to get a clear picture because of the baby's position, so we just had to take what we could get. After looking at the pictures, Skyler said "I'm scared, Mom."
2. I know it looks like there's a hole in her head, but there's not. The doctor said that a piece of the cord was drifting in the way. She assured me that Sadie is very healthy and will come out very cute.
3. She definitely has my lips. Does she not?
4. She is chubby already...2 lbs. 13 oz. and in the 87th percentile. I also failed my first diabetes test, which may be why she is so chubby. I went in for the second test this morning. I'm trying to think positive.
5. I'm pretty sure she's already a thumb sucker. She always has her right hand by her mouth, and in one of the pictures it really looks like she is sucking her thumb.
6. We love her and are so excited for her to get here!!! In the meantime, though, I have to pack this house up, paint the next one (or rather Bryant will have to paint), move, get the nursery ready, and teach school. Oh well, at least I won't be sitting around anxiously waiting. I am so thankful that she is healthy and that we are getting a bigger house with room for all of us. Lots of blessings...

Congratulations Josh and Alaina!!!

Baby George Loden Enslen born early this morning...8 lbs. 10 oz. He is absolutely beautiful and we love him already!

Counting our blessings this Christmas and New Year's...

We were very blessed this Christmas to get to see both some of my family and some of Bryant's family. I feel very lucky that my parents are so close right now, relatively speaking. At least they are within driving distance. And to get to see one brother and two sisters for Christmas, as well as their respective families, was icing on the cake! Also, I am very thankful for the new camera Bryant got me, with which I was able to take all of these pictures of family. I really can't stress enough how appreciative we are for all that we have and for all of you. Of course we are very excited to be adding Sadie Louise to our family in 2010. We also have one more addition - a new house to accommodate her! It is a little drive from where we are now, but we sure got a good deal on a nice, big house. We close on February 1st. I'm going in the morning to take pictures, so I'll add them then.

Thank You Jacob and Donna!

Jacob and Donna, we sure appreciate you hosting the family for Christmas this year. And Ashley, Adalyn, Alyssa, and John, thank you for sharing your food, snow clothes, pets, bedrooms, bathrooms, and toys with us. We had so much fun at your house. We especially loved seeing Ashley, since we don't get to see her near as often as we'd like to. And since Skyler and Ashley both play the flute, we were fortunate enough to get a concert or two while we were there. We sure do love y'all!

John Edward...Need I say more?

I need not, but I will anyway. This boy keeps everyone on their toes. He found some lipstick in Elsa's purse and this is the outcome. I thought it was hilarious, but Donna probably didn't since she had to clean it off of John and off of the carpet.

Lucas Stubbs: A Man's Man

I just love this picture of Lucas eating the steak. He wanted some meat, so he picked up this steak and started chowing down. It was really fun for me to be around him, and the rest of Jenny's family for that matter. This was only the third time I've ever gotten to see Lucas and it was the first time I've seen him walk. All of Jenny's children got her super long, straight eyelashes. I love it!

Cabela's Visit

Jacob and Donna live really close to a Cabela's, so we took a field trip there one day during our vacation. We had a great time looking at the aquarium, target shooting, and checking out the animals. Here are the girls with a moose.

Utah Winter Fun

The kids had a great time sledding with Uncle Bryant! And the location was quite convenient. Since Jacob and Donna already live on a mountain, all they had to do was walk down Jacob's street to the culdesac, and there is a perfect hill.

Rock Climbing at The Quarry

All of the kids had a great time rock climbing at The Quarry. Kids are natural climbers and will climb on anything if you give them a chance, so of course they did! I tried to get at least one picture of everyone as they scaled the walls, so here they are. They even had a little wall for Rhett and John Edward. Also, thank you Bryant, Patrick, and Thatcher for being such patient, long suffering belayers!

Mama in her element...

Part of my mother's mission assignment is to utilize her Registered Nurse skills at a missionary clinic every week. Here are a couple of pictures of her in her little office.

My father's assignment is to do historical research and archive for the Church History Library, so he is really in his element too. Unfortunately, he did not go with us on the day we toured the library, so I didn't get any pictures of him in his element.
