Men are governed by lines of intellect- women: by curves of emotion.

Happy birthday to my beautiful eldest daughter!

Skyler turned 12 yesterday. My how time flies! She wanted to go out to eat at Macaroni Grill, so we met Grandma and Grandpa there for dinner. The food was delicious and we had a great time!

Her Young Women's Leader brought by this cute poster-birthday card. She is very excited to be starting Young Women's next Sunday, especially since she already knows the girls and the leaders from going to girls camp this past summer. For her final primary this last Sunday, they sang happy birthday to her and let her break her name stick.

She picked out this cute outfit from Tilly's for her birthday. She also got some other clothes, her ears pierced, and an MP3 player. She really racked up. Thanks, everyone, for making her 12th birthday extra special!
P.S. I heard this version of happy birthday on playlist and had to pick it. I used to have this record!

My Mother The Movie Star

Dianne Enslen Bio:

Hometown: Wetumpka, Alabama
Education: Clemson University and Troy University
Hobbies: finding things, untying knots in necklaces and hoses, shopping, digging for shells at the beach, rearranging furniture, killing lizards with cans of raid and flip flops, driving new Chevrolet SUVs with her right foot on the gas and her left foot on the brake simultaneously, heaping mounds and mounds of unconditional love onto her children and grandchildren, occasionally threatening her husband with a frying pan or antibacterial spray, skipping rocks, spraying off patios, cutting grass with the blade so low as to tear up the lawnmower, gardening, playing piano, Northeast Georgia style buck dance clogging, and acting

Birthday: January 18, 1949

Family: married to John E. Enslen; 6 children; 17 grandchildren

Movies: The Grass Harp, Big Fish, A Frumpled Fairy Story, Miracles

Dianne Enslen is currently filming her fourth film, Miracles, on set in Utah's Wasatch Front. Miracles is a film by T.C. Christensen, a close personal friend of the actress and her husband.

Scandals: Some people feel that Dianne Enslen deserved an Oscar nomination for her role as the fairy queen in the movie, A Frumpled Fairy Story. There is speculation that the Academy felt the movie, by Alaina Enslen, was just too controversial. See poll. Another theory is that the actress was snubbed because she verbally and physically assaulted a member of the Academy when that member said something negative about one of the actress' children.

Skyler's First Day of Junior High School!

I can't believe it! Stop growing, Skyler! You're hurting my feelings.

It's good to be queen.

Sibley's Starts School

Sibley started third grade yesterday. Some of the things she likes about her new school are that you can pick where you want to sit for lunch and you can wear flip-flops on non-PE days. On a different, more random note, does anyone know what kind of bush this is? It smells so good. It has the whole outdoors around our house smelling wonderful right now.

Dear Sadie,

This is what you have been up to lately:

You are eating oatmeal and rice cereal. You like it mixed with apple or white grape/peach juice.

You have discovered Mama Kitty. You like to go out and visit with her on the back porch. You watch her and touch her when she comes up to you.

You fell in love with the newspaper on Sunday when I was clipping my coupons. You liked to look at it, crinkle it in your hands, lick it, rip it, etc.

You sing songs when Daddy plays the piano for you.

You grabbed my glasses, hair, and earrings this past week.
Two more things I want to remember:
When you get tired, you hunch your shoulders and move your head up and down like a turtle. You also like to scratch the sheets with your fingernails. You like to scratch everything with your fingernails. My arms and hands stay scratched. You're like a little kitten, kneading everything all the time. And you love to hold a blanket against your face. That makes you happy. Also, you got Thrush this week, and when I took you to the doctor on 8/12, you weighed 15 lbs. 2 oz.

Magic Jack?

Do any of you have Magic Jack? If so, let me know if you like it. We are thinking about switching. Thanks!
