Men are governed by lines of intellect- women: by curves of emotion.

And don't worry...

My hormone levels are much higher this time. I think there is more than one in there. We will probably find out late next week. We're so excited we can hardly stand it. I was going to try and wait to see if I was having twins first to announce it, but I just couldn't. Y'all know me!

Utah Trip

The girls and I took a week long trip to Utah for Pioneer Day. We got to see Grandmama and Grandaddy, our cousins, and some of our old Utah friends. I really wish I would have taken more pictures. The girls wanted to go by our old house and reminisce, so we did and I snapped this picture. This was the very first house we ever bought. Bryant was going to BYU, and it was really close to campus. This is where we lived when Sibley was born and she learned to walk out in front on the sidewalk. Skyler started Kindergarten when we lived here too. Then we moved to a much bigger place in Eagle Mountain, but I never had the time to go and take a picture of it on this trip. I'll have to do that on the next trip.

So we got to stay with my brother, Jacob, and his family. We had a great time. They have a newly finished, very expansive basement with a home theater, which we took full advantage of. I really wish I would have taken some pictures of my nephew, John, and my nieces. We also got to see Aunt Amanda and Elizabeth for a little while. And we got to spend time with the Cornwells too.

It was really cool to see where my parents are serving their mission in Salt Lake. They have a small apartment a couple of blocks from Temple Square. They walk to and from work everyday. They work in the new Church History Library. We walked to the Pioneer Day Parade from their apartment and when we got back, my parents cooked us a delicious lunch - barbecue chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, sweet rolls, and lemon cake, chocolate cake, and Sweet Potato Pie for dessert! Yu-um! Another day they took us out to dinner at the new deli in the Joseph Smith Building. And another time, my mother took us to Archibald's and we walked around Gardner Village - one of our favorite places! We just had the best time! We can't wait to see everyone at Christmas! Thanks for putting up with us!

Pioneer Day Parade in Salt Lake City

We had so much fun at the Pioneer Day Parade in Salt Lake this year. So, now I have been to a Pioneer Day Parade in Provo, Snowflake, and Salt Lake twice. I have to say, the Salt Lake Parade was even better than I remembered it. The girls and I definitely liked the Polynesian Dancers the best. We also loved the bagpipes and the Polynesian Bands. One of the other highlights was Henry B. Eyring and his wife. Definitely, though, the soldiers drew the biggest cheers from the crowds. As soon as they rounded the corner, everyone was up on their feet hooping and hollering and cheering them on.

The Clark Planetarium

On our trip to Utah, we went to the new Clark Planetarium at the Gateway. They had some really cool exhibits, and the best part was - free admission! Next time we go, if we have more time, I would like to check out one of their 3D movies. They had this weather forecast station, where the kids could pretend to be a forecaster on the news. They also had a Mars and a Moon exhibit, where the kids could pretend to walk around on them.

Snaggletooth Sibley

The tooth fairy has been very busy at our house this week. Between Skyler and Sibley, three teeth were lost in one day. On Thursday, Sibley lost a tooth in the morning. And in the afternoon, Skyler went to the orthodontist and they surprised her by pulling two of her teeth. We didn't take a picture of Skyler's because they are in the back, so they're very hard to see. Also, the mark on Sibley's nose is from getting hit in the nose by a frisbee, compliments of big sister. Bryant has this new game he plays with them, in the house - mind you, that is a cross between freeze tag and a sort of frisbee dodge ball. So far the collateral damage with this new game has been a plug cover, a night light, and Sibley's nose.

I'm sorry, but I think a little snaggletooth child is the cutest thing. It is so fun for me to teach first and second graders because I love their little snaggletooth smiles. I have really been enjoying Sibley's snaggletooth smile this week.

Happy Fourth!

In keeping with tradition, we went to the White Mountains for the Fourth this year. It was so nice and cool in Eagar. Here are a few pictures from the parade. I would say the highlight this year was definitely the Statue of Liberty. And we saw this Slade Trucking 18 wheeler and had to take a picture. We don't know whose it is, but we do know we're related.

It was so fun to spend Papa's 84th birthday with him. He's the only Grandfather I have left now. He was really cutting up this year too. After the parade, we went to Grannie and Papa's house and the girls got into a huge water fight with their cousins. It was Skyler and Sibley against Tristen and Logan. They would hide around corners and ambush each other with their water guns. Then it escalated and Skyler got the water hose. Needless to say, there was not a dry stitch of clothing on the girls by the time it was over. They had a blast - literally and figuratively.

Happy Birthday Georgia and Julie too! And thanks for hosting us again, Aunt Karen! You're the best. I hope all of y'all had as good a Fourth as we did!

Ahhh....Some good news....

And believe me when I say that I needed some good news this month. Last month my sister, Jenny, started selling Scentsy with me. While this, in and of itself, is good news, it gets much better. I mean to tell y'all, the girl dove rip-roaring head first in. June was her very first month, and she sold over $2,000 worth. Because of her hard work, I got promoted to Star Consultant!!! Also, she earned herself a hefty bonus and even earned me one (as her sponsor) too. I am so proud of her. And it feels really good to go to my webpage and see "Jessica Slade - Star Consultant." I am hoping to be a Director by the end of the year. There is only one thing separating me as a Star Consultant from Director, and that is Superstar Consultant. At the rate Jenny is going, she'll have me there at Superstar Consultant in no time.

So, this is my plan. Obviously I want to have a baby, and after that not go back to teach school anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love substitute teaching, but I wouldn't if I had to leave a baby everyday. I love selling Scentsy. I thought it might get old after a while, but I have been doing it for 14 months now, and it is still as fun as ever. Now, who wants to have a party? Remember I'm in Utah later this month.
