Photo session with the most incredible photographer/artist on earth!!!

Y'all know who I'm talkin' 'bout. Yep - Alaina Enslen. To see more of her stuff, click on her link under my "friends and family" area. I feel so lucky to have her in my family. She really is incredibly talented. It was fun to watch her work with Sadie during our session. She is a true artist. She wandered around and picked out outfits, dresses, props, and had to be in areas where the lighting was just right, even if that meant standing out in the blazing heat and suffocating humidity of midday Alabama in June. I think my favorite ones are of Sadie on the chair out in the backyard, in a dress that Aunt Georgia picked out especially for her.
( I have sprinkled a few others throughout some previous posts.)
P.S. I know what y'all will say when you see these pictures, "Sadie looks exactly like Bryant." My mother keeps telling me, "She looks like her daddy just spit her out." And she's right. All of my girls looked just like their daddy when they were born. Those Slade genes are strong.

Sibley's Baptism

Sibley was baptized on June 20, 2010 in the font of the Wetumpka, AL ward building, the same font where I was baptized 24 years ago. And Bryant got to baptize her on Father's Day to boot. I have to say, it was a pretty special day. Almost all of my family was there. Even though Bryant's family couldn't come, Sibley wore a beautiful white dress that Grandma Slade made especially for the occasion. We are proud of Sibley for making the decision to follow Jesus' example and be baptized.
Thanks to all of you who helped out with the baptism - especially Mama, Georgia, and Jenny for providing the delicious food!

Sadie Louise and her namesake

Sadie Louise is named after her great grandmother, Elda Louise Estes Enslen. They got to meet each other for the first time on June 17, 2010.

Just sharing some great news.....

Sadie slept from 9pm to 5:30am! Woohoo! She had been sleeping from 9-4, but last night she stretched it for another hour and a half! I think she is ready for her bed when we get back from vacation.

Dear Sadie...

You laughed yesterday for the first time. Your daddy went out of town for the weekend and came home on Sunday. When he got home, you acted like he was a stranger. You wanted nothing to do with him. But he worked on you, and by Monday he had you eating out of his hand again. I was working in the kitchen and he had you on his lap in the living room. He was making a silly noise and you let out the cutest little laugh. I can't wait to hear you do it again.
Love,
Mama
P.S. This is a picture that your Aunt Alaina took of Daddy holding you when you were exactly three months old. You always keep your pinky toe stuck out like this. I can't do it if I try, but it comes very naturally to you - another something you inherited from your daddy's family.

Yay! We got our computer back!

We caught a virus and had to have someone fix the computer. Boy did we miss it...electronic crack!

Smiley Sadie

This is what you are up to these days, Sadie Louise:
You are obviously smiling a lot - especially in the morning. You are definitely a morning person.
You sleep at least six hours straight at night - usually. You like to go to bed by 9 and get up to eat at 3:30 to eat. Then you go back to sleep.
You are starting to talk a lot and you love it when I listen and talk to you. You mainly say "herrr" and blow lots of spit bubbles.
You have lots of hair, but unfortunately it is all in the back - MULLET.
Your favorite toy is the polka dot butterfly.
You are such a good baby. Lately you have been letting me get a lot done, even when you are awake. And you are almost always awake during the day. You usually just take cat naps.
